I
can't remember having snow before
Halloween. I know that for 25 years,
from about 1980 on, we would have a
Halloween bonfire on this weekend, and it
was always lovely. And since we
stopped having it -- no more young kids
around, and now I seem to get a headache
from the smoke -- we always say, "This is
the bonfire weekend, and see how nice it
would be for it." So I know this is
really unusual. Lots of broken trees,
it is going to be sad tomorrow when we take
stock of all the damage. But the
doggies love it.
