Deaver on 26 Sept, 2000 He recalls grandmother pearsall telling how she was in Nashville, TN in 1864 at age 8 seeing the "defeated confederate soldiers straggling into town". Her father ran a Union army store in Nashville. At the time of Grandmother's tale telling Mason, she was in Lexington visiting Uncle Mason and Ethel. She probably had taken the train to Lexington or Beuna Vista. Mason remembers Grandmother telling stories about her grandfather telling stories about George Washington.
