She was a life resident of Greenwich. The daughter of the late Theodore Holly and Clara Wicks Holly, Mrs. Morrell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Foley of Port Chester, and by several nephews and nieces.
During the days before her marriage, Mrs. Morrell used to walk across a floating bridge, near where the Mianus River bridge is today. The regular bridge had burned down. She especially liked to walk to the old Riverside Chapel.
She had no particular advice for a long life but she never drank or smoked and she liked to take long walks. Relatives said that she was never known to have an argument with anyone during her long adult life.
Until she broke her hip after falling at her home in August, Mrs. Morrell enjoyed good health. Guests at her July 10 birthday party remembered she had very few wrinkles in her face, although 97. At that time, she talked about the old days--when eggs were 15 cents a dozen and when a customer could buy six loaves of bread for 25 cents. That was around 50 years ago, she said.
She belonged to no organizations except those of her church. Services will be held from the Frank M. Reilly Funeral Residnece at 10 a.m. tomorrow with the Rev. Dr. Vincent Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the First Congregational Church Cemetery, Old Greenwich. Huyler Holly, the son of William Webb Holly and Hattie Ball, became a police constable in Port Chester. According to Larry Kloess, he had Badge #1. He and his wife Louise Hartlieb had no children. Larry also says that Louise was the secretary to the CEO of the Lifesaver Company, who married Louise's sister. This is interesting because Auntie, Margaret Holly, who was Huyler's cousin, was a bookkeeper at the Lifesaver Company.

Aunt Louise's sister was married to the president and CEO of Lifesavers, Inc., a candy company in Port Chester. Aunt Louise was his executive secretary for many years. Uncle Huyler joined the Port Chester Police Department and spent a career there and badge #1 upon retirement. He was a big man whom I was afraid of as a young child. He was a no nonsense tough type of guy. He would wear his sungoggles as a motorcycle officer in his early days. He set records pulling people over for speeding or reckless driving. He would hide out in bushes waiting for speedsters. He never gave warnings. His reputation was that he would arrest his own mother for traffic violations. I grew fonder of him in later years. He could cook great Italian meals. He and Louise lived in a pretty house that they built out from Port Chester. They lived long lives together without children. He died of cancer in the late 60s."4
