Mr. Kilpatrick suffered a paralytic stroke on Friday and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He had been in good health until the time that he was stricken.
  
  Mr. Kilpatrick was born at Freemansburg and resided in Easton nearly all his life. He was an electrician and was employed by the Lehigh Valley Transit Company at the Easton shop. Deceased was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church and Easton Local, No. 169, Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees of America. Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Kilpatrick; six children, Herbert and Mrs. Frank Leauber, of Easton, Howard, of Wilson borough; and Russell, Byron F. and Robert, at home; two sisters, Mrs. S. A. Wixon, of Wilson, and Miss Martha Kilpatrick, of Easton, and five grandchildren.¹
• Burial Notice*: 16 September 1931 Burial Notice: The funeral of the late Byron I. Kilpatrick was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at his residence, 213 North Twelfth street. Rev. E. J. Heilman, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran church, conducted the services and interment was made in the Easton Heights Cemetery. The pallbearers were C.F. Walters, J.F. McRoberts, S. Charles, C.L. Werkheiser, W.O. Smith and W. Kindt, all members of Easton Local, No. 169, Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees of America.²

  Mrs. Kilpatrick was a daughter of the late Howard and Delina Flint and had lived most of her life in Easton. Since 1956, she made her home with a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kilpatrick, at the West Easton address.
  
  She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Easton. During World War II, she worked at the old Chipman Knitting Mills.
  
  Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bertha Pamark of Philadelphia; 20 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Shillinger Funeral Home.²

In this census, under "Able to Read and Write" it says Yes. With Florence, wife, age 52; able to read and write. Anna Dickie, daughter, age 27, married, winder in belt works. Claude, son, age 20, single, no occupation. Katie, daughter, age 17, single, winder in belt works. Florence, daughter, age 15, single, in school.⁶

• Obituary*: 21 June 1949 Obituary: Joseph Henry Pyatt, 78, a retired painting contractor, died today at 8:45 a.m. in Easton Hospital. He resided at 637 Holt street, South Side, and had been hospitalized since June 13.
  
  He was born in Bridgeton, York County [ed. note: mistake, should be Bridgeton, Bucks County], a son of the late Isaiah and Amanda Pyatt. Mr. Pyatt had been living in retirement in recent years due to failing health.
  
  Surviving are a son, Claude C., of Easton; four daughters, Mrs. James Peterson, of Portland, Maine; Mrs. George H. Messer, of Wilson; Mrs. Herbert Kilpatrick, of Glendon, and Mrs. William Shannon, of Easton, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.⁸
• Burial Notice*: 23 June 1949 Burial Notice: Funeral services for Joseph Henry Pyatt, 78, of 637 Holt street, were held this afternoon at the Pittenger funeral home, Wilson. Mr. Pyatt died Tuesday in Easton Hospital.
  
  The Rev. Paul A. Gottschalk, paster of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, conducted the rites. Interment was in Hay's cemetery. Pallbearers were John and William Shannon, George Messer, Jr., Herbert and Eugene Kilpatrick and Claude Pyatt Jr.⁹

• Birth*: Isaiah was born on 15 January 1839, Pennsylvania , Birth listed in Fackenthal's "Soldiers of the Civil War" as 1849, but birth as calculated from obituary and censuses indicates 1839. A birth of 1849 would have made him age 13 when he joined the Civil War which would be unlikely.²
• Census: Isaiah appeared on the census of 3 August 1860 at Greenwich Twp, Phillipsburg, Warren County, New Jersey, as Farm Laborer, age 22, in the household of Philip G. Fine, age 39, Farmer worth $1600, and family, living next to Elizabeth Fine, age 60, only person in her household, estate $5000. This entry is indexed Josiah, and it does look like Josiah, so this may not be Isaiah, but since he later lives in Greenwich Twp, and is no longer with his parents, and I don't see a Josiah Piatt in any other census year, this is a good candidate for Isaiah.³
