• Note*: On the Greenwich 1860 census, Jonathan Marshall lives next to Gilbert Marshall and family in Pound Ridge. In the 1850 census, Gilbert Marshall is in Greenwich, with family, and is living next to Permelia Marshall, age 66, with Mary Ray, Permelia Ray, George Ray, Mary F. Ray, and John H Ray. Mr. Ray is not there, nor Mr. Marshall. A Permelia Mead, b. 21 Jan 1784, married a Stephen Marshall (b. about 1780), about 1805. He died 3 Dec. 1855. Pamelia was a dau. of Matthew Mead and Mary Bush, who had 13 ch. I don't know what if any connection there is here. But Stephen and Pamelia Marshall are mentioned a number of times in David Tilley's research notes, as buying and selling land from Selah Mead. on 26 July 1850 at Greenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut.³

The dwelling next door is also a boarding house, run by Edmund Angevine (Livery Stable) and his wife Phebe, with 5 boarders and an Irish domestic listed.¹

The above death information was transcribed onto a typewritten form, so I can't tell if the errors were those of the clerk, or if the errors were in the original material.^2,6
